Lately, I’ve noticed a trend of resumes opting for paragraph-style descriptions to outline responsibilities and achievements instead of the more traditional bullet points.
As a recruiter, I know the value of a clear and scannable format—especially for busy hiring managers or HR professionals who may spend seconds deciding whether to keep reading.
But I’m curious:
Which format do you prefer when reviewing resumes?
Does a paragraph-heavy resume make it harder to skim, or does it help paint a more complete picture of the candidate?
Have you ever been "turned off" by a specific format?
Let me know your thoughts in the comments—especially if you’re a hiring manager or HR professional! Let’s crowdsource some wisdom for job seekers.
